About Us
Vision Care is a global healthcare nonprofit dedicated to the prevention and curing of blindness.
Through our sight-restoring initiatives and global partnerships, we work to create equitable and self-sustainable eye care systems that are accessible to all. Our vision is that, together, we can see a brighter world.
Our Mission & Vision
Since 2002, Vision Care has been dedicated to the worldwide elimination of reversible causes of blindness.
As a registered member of the International Agency for Preventative Blindness (IAPB), we operate in alignment with the goals and mission set forth by the United Nations (UN) and World Health Organization (WHO) to end global vision loss.
Founded on the generous support of churches and missionaries throughout the world, Vision Care has developed a network of partners in 39 countries who share the mission to bring sight to the most under-resourced regardless of race, ethnicity, creed, gender or religion.
We envision a world where vision problems are prevented and treated. Many people lose sight due to poor conditions, but through partnerships with medical professionals, missionaries, and volunteers, Vision Care delivers care via short-term eye camps and long-term clinics to restore sight and improve lives.

Our Values & Approach
Vision Care's approach to preventing avoidable sight loss is driven by our four core values:
Voluntary Service, Collaboration, Professionalism, and Field Based Work.
Voluntary Service
Vision Care volunteers give their time and expertise to provide care at zero-cost to patients. Our focus is to provide high quality medical services in underdeveloped regions to patients who suffer from reversible vision loss and otherwise cannot afford eye care.
Collaboration
We collaborate with local doctors and hospitals, governments and NGOs, and missions organizations to ensure we meet local needs. At Vision Care, service meets mutual learning as we strive to connect, understand, and learn from our own field partners.
Professionalism
Vision Care is invested in the professional development of the global medical workforce through education and opportunity. We uphold the highest standards for excellence and always train according to best practices in ophthalmology.
Field Based Work
All of Vision Care's work is field based. Our long-term mission is to aid our partners in achieving self-sustainable eye care systems in their own communities through working in concordance with local customs, systems, and cultures.
See Our Work
Our work to end global vision loss encompasses direct humanitarian care as well as the development of sustainable eye care systems. These activities include coordinating surgical eye camps, training local medical professionals, conducting school vision screenings and advocating for eye health.
